History: Cecil Field Conservation Corridor includes the Cecil Field property, which consists of 5,366 acres and donated to the City of Jacksonville on August 1, 2000 as a Conservation easement for mitigation and the Peterson Tract, which consists of 2,865 acres purchased on October 6, 2000 by JEA for $5,301,933. A Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) grant was awarded for the design and construction of a trail system through this property. The grant award is for $2,045,000. The City must complete each phase of the design and construction before being reimbursed. This grant is phased over four sections and five years.
