||The New Berlin Model Airplane Field is located in northeastern Jacksonville, east of New Berlin Road. The name New Berlin derives from an area well south of the field near Dames Point on the St. Johns River. After its settlement in the 1860ís, New Berlin became a thriving community that still exists today. The Radio Controlled Club leases the 18.67-acre site from the City and manages the field. The site contains two asphalt runways and is opened seven days a week. The public may visit at any time the field is open and have a picnic, watch the flying etc.
